We have designed more than 500 landscape projects in the Carroll County, GA area since 2009. The diversity of our experience is something very few of our competitors can match.

We know from experience what works and what won’t work. If it has been done, we have most likely done it and know how to handle the challenges posed by different properties.

Dreamscapes Landscaping Service brings a level of experience to your project that few of our competitors can approach. This level of experience means that you get the benefit of all the great plans and ideas that we have incorporated into previous designs. Inexperienced landscape contractor problems we have seen in the past are:

    • Getting on-the-job training at your expense
    • Offering a lower rate but using lower-quality materials
    • Inexperience leading to future problems
    • Failure to finish the project
  • What is your return phone call policy?

Nothing can be more frustrating than having a question about your project and then having to wait for the company to call you back. Customers are the lifeblood of our company, and they deserve a prompt response to all calls, texts, and emails. We utilize a full-time office staff to take your call or text from Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. We are also available Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM as a convenience for our customers.

Each customer will be provided with our email contact information, and all emails will be reviewed and responded to daily.

  • What employee conduct expectations do you have in place?

All our employees are trained to act like guests on your property. In addition, as a condition of employment, all employees are required to abide by the terms of our employee manual and safety handbook policies. All employees are subject to this policy. These policies give you a level of confidence that the crews that are at your home or office are professionals.

  • How frequently should my grass be cut?

This is a great question, and the answer depends on a few factors. We recommend setting your mower to cut your grass at 3 inches or higher. This will allow your grass to develop a healthy root system, making it less vulnerable to drought, weeds, and insects.

We also recommend following the one-third rule to determine when it's time to mow. This means that if you're cutting your grass to 3 inches, you mow before your grass reaches 4.5 inches high. The frequency your lawn needs to be mowed will depend on the season, but the one-third rule will be your guide.

Generally, during the spring, you may need to mow multiple times a week. As the summer heat slows your lawn's growth, you'll be mowing every week. Start mowing biweekly in the fall when the average daily temperature falls to 50 degrees or below for a full week. Be sure your grass isn't more than 4 inches high when you stop mowing to help discourage matting, which can cause problems.

  • Why don’t the gardeners use rakes and brooms instead of blowers?

It takes much longer to clear areas of leaf debris and dirt with rakes and brooms than it does with a blower. While rakes and brooms are a great option for small gardens, due to the scale of customers we serve and the additional time it would take, service fees would be substantially higher without blowers.

  • My neighbor has a dead or dangerous tree. Can I get them to cut it down?

The city or county you live in is the authority over public trees. Problems with your neighbor’s trees are a private property matter and should be discussed with your neighbor or an attorney. If you know of a dead or dangerous street tree, please contact your local public works department. They will evaluate the tree to determine if it should be put on the tree maintenance priority list.

  • How do I take care of my new sod?

The most important thing you can do is water, water, water! Your new lawn should be kept saturated for the first two weeks. During this time, do not walk on it! The ground will be very soft, and you will sink in the mud and leave big footprints. After 10 days, check to see if the sod has taken root by tugging up on it. If it has taken hold, turn off the water, allow turf to dry for a day or two, and then cut it at the highest mower setting using sharp blades. Always bag clippings at this time. Continue watering weekly, especially in the warmer months.

  • How do I care for my annual flowers?

Annual flowers should be watered in the early morning or early evening, never in the heat of the day. Flowers may or may not require water every day. It is important to check the soil before watering either with your finger or a moisture tester. Annual flowers also require regular fertilizing.

These items are general guidelines to follow. Plants of all varieties from your lawn to your trees are living, growing things and require the same time and attention that people do. All things will react differently depending on where they are in the landscape, soil type, watering habits, insects, and more. If there are ever any questions or concerns, we will be more than happy to walk your property with you and evaluate your specific site and any problems there may be.

  • How do I care for my newly installed bushes?

All new plants should be watered by hand, or you should have your sprinkler system set up for daily watering. It is your responsibility to water plants at least once per week for the first four or five weeks during warm weather.

Please note that some plants will wilt, some plants will lose leaves, and some plants will show fall color. These are normal signs of adjustment. Do not assume plants need water if you see any of these signs. Always check the soil around the plants before watering! If the soil is wet, do not water it! This may require you to move the mulch and poke a finger in the ground. If your bushes were planted in the colder months, they must be covered to avoid frostbite.

  • Do you only do large jobs on commercial properties?

No, we work on properties of all sizes and styles, and we provide service to a wide variety of both residential and commercial properties in west Georgia.

  • Can I get a specific service day every week?

We try to accommodate as many personal schedules as possible. However, since we have multiple properties during the course of every day, it may not be possible depending on your area and when you want service. However, we will attempt to accommodate your specific request as we make our schedules. Contact our office to see if the specific day is available for your lawn maintenance needs.

  • What happens when I start a landscaping project?

If you would like to schedule a design consultation, please don't hesitate to contact us today. Our office staff will gather a few details about your property and answer any questions you may have regarding our services and workflows. We like to follow up with an onsite meeting. This is a great time to address any general questions and explain our design and installation services, project workflows, and budget considerations. The onsite meeting gives us a better sense of the property conditions. There is no charge for this consultation.

  • My home is in need of a complete landscape overhaul, and I don’t even know where to begin. What do I do?

You probably have some idea of what you are looking for, but even if you don’t, we can help draw out your vision through a consultation. We’ll explore your tastes, favorite colors, and home’s architectural style. We take this information and develop a design that works for you. This design then becomes the blueprint for the installation of your new landscape that, when completed, is your home’s outdoor oasis, beautiful and suited to your needs.

  • I live alone and security is a concern of mine. How will I know when the crew is on my property?

We understand your need to feel safe and want you to feel comfortable when crews are servicing your home. That is why Dreamscapes Outdoor Living and Play maintains strict working hours, and crews are always uniformed and recognizable by our company’s colors and logo. We can also let you know what day of the week we plan to come to your property, so you know when to expect us.

  • What is the difference between annuals and perennials?

Perennial plants are those that grow and bloom in the spring, summer, or fall, then go dormant for the winter months. The benefit of perennials is that they return year after year, oftentimes putting on a better show with each new season. Annuals, on the other hand, are plants grown for their instant impact, usually producing a single-season period of bloom. There are cool-season annuals and warm-season annuals. They should be planted accordingly.

  • Are my newly installed plants or sod guaranteed?

All of our plant materials, hardscape materials, and labor are conditionally guaranteed with proper customer care. We do a final walk-through with our customers to be sure that they are completely satisfied with the results. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to provide care and water accordingly. We do not guarantee live products that have not been cared for appropriately.

  • When should I plant my annual flowerbeds?

Typically, we plant annuals around April or May and at the end of fall. The actual date depends solely on the weather. For summer flowers, the weather needs to warm up. A frost (which is different from a freeze) can kill summer flowers. For pansies and other winter annuals, the weather needs to cool down. Warm weather in the fall will make pansies stretch and will leave them more susceptible to damage from cold weather.

  • Do you work in the winter?

Though the grass and trees aren’t growing as readily, for our maintenance crews, it is business as usual to make sure that your property continues to look neat throughout the winter months. Our construction crews also schedule all types of projects for winter. We are able to retain our staff when other companies have to lay theirs off, which means we have the ability to take care of your landscape needs year-round.
